HANYS Marketplace partners with ECRI to improve patient safety and reduce preventable harm in healthcare
Albany, NY, July 29, 2026 — HANYS Marketplace® has partnered with ECRI, a nonprofit organization advancing the safety and quality of healthcare, to provide New York hospitals and health systems with evidence-based solutions that protect patients, prevent harm and improve efficiency in medical care.
ECRI partners with healthcare organizations to apply advanced safety science and systems thinking, building resilient, sustainable safety infrastructures. ECRI experts serve as hands-on partners that improve enterprise safety management and target specific challenges in care delivery such as medication safety, infection prevention and workflow inefficiencies that waste time and resources.
As healthcare leaders face growing complexity, from workforce shortages and shrinking budgets to rapidly evolving technologies, ECRI provides independent guidance, data-driven insights and practical recommendations to provide safer, more efficient care.
“Healthcare organizations need partners that can help them improve outcomes while navigating increasingly complex operational and clinical challenges,” said Al Campanella, executive vice president, HANYS Marketplace. “ECRI’s reputation for independence and evidence-based guidance makes the organization a valuable addition to the HANYS Marketplace family of partners. We are proud to offer our members access to ECRI’s extensive expertise and solutions.”
“ECRI is wholly focused on patient safety and care quality,” said Dheerendra Kommala, MD, ECRI’s chief medical officer. “We have successfully partnered with numerous hospitals and healthcare providers across the U.S. to reduce safety incidents and improve efficiency in their operations. We serve all 50 states and clinics that care for more than 32 million Americans a year. Now we’re excited to partner with HANYS Marketplace to bring ECRI’s capabilities directly to healthcare organizations across New York.”
